State Ensemble LIETUVA | Music, dance and theatre
The State Ensemble “Lietuva” is the only professional choir, dance and orchestra ensemble in the Baltic States. Today, “Lietuva” is moving in a new creative direction – presenting Lithuania’s identity in a relevant and contemporary way and inspiring pride in our country’s living history. Living history is a relevant story, conveyed in a modern and inspiring way through the performing arts. Bringing historical events to life on stage, reminding us that memories are only alive as long as we ourselves cherish and bear witness to them, is the essence of the ensemble’s work.
Through the blending of different genres of music, unique dance, music and theatre productions, it seeks to find an innovative sound and expression of folk music to engage audiences of all ages. The ensemble represents Lithuania and presents our country’s cultural heritage – Lithuanian folk performing arts and traditions.
